The Homestead Bakery is no longer the newest offspring of The Great Pumpkin Patch, but it still remains the yummiest. The newly constructed building, into which we are very comfortably settled for our fifth year, keeps us hopping with e-mail, phone and walk-in orders.
We are very pleased to continue bringing all our valued customers the freshest, made-from-scratch delights such as caramel-iced cinnamon rolls, dinner rolls, honey white and wheat breads, sweet and specialty breads, a variety of cookies [chocolate chip, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, snickerdoodle, chocolate crinkle], iced cut-out cookies, and classic angel food cakes of various flavors.
We welcome special order items. Just give us a call, an e-message or visit us directly. Remember us when you’re looking for that perfect “Gift Box.” Make special Fall plans to visit us to sample our “specialty in-season goodies” like pumpkin cinnamon rolls, pumpkin pies, pumpkin bread, pumpkin bars, pumpkin butter, pumpkin angel food cake, and cream-cheese frosted pumpkin cookies, all made from pumpkins grown right here on the farm!
You simply must come in during our Summer and Autumn hours [May through December 23rd, Mon-Sat, 9am-3pm], not just to load up on all the baked goodies, but also to choose from all the other scrumptious items that we stock on our shelves. These include a substantial assortment of mustards, pickled vegetables, relishes, salsas, jams, jellies, butter spreads, noodles, and a generous selection of fine candies and fudge. For you antique buffs, we also leave shelf room for the ageless treasures that we seek out at auctions, garage sales, boutiques, and the like . . . so we can offer you just the right addition you need to complete those designing projects you so enjoy!
And once we’re back to walk-in business in May, be sure to look for The Homestead Seeds on our shelves to cater to all of you gardeners who are ready to pop some heirloom cucurbit seeds into this marvelous Midwestern soil for some great Fall-time eating!
We call ourselves a Bakery, but we intentionally position ourselves to make your shopping efforts so much easier, more comprehensive and much more affordable. You have many reasons to make The Homestead Bakery an essential stop on your routine shopping excursions.
The Homestead Bakery is open Monday through Saturday, 9:00am - 3:00pm from May 1st - December 23rd; with even longer hours during Great Pumpkin Patch season of 9:00am - 6:00pm, seven days a week, only from September 15th - October 31st. The Bakery Winter/Spring hours, running from January through April, are scheduled for phone and e-mail orders only. WE ARE NOT OPEN FOR WALK-IN RETAIL DURING THE WINTER AND BEGINNING OF SPRING MONTHS. During these months, our weekly baking days are Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays — please plan ahead accordingly for your phone or e-orders.
