Heartland Highways features The Homestead Seeds
Lori (Casey) and Kate (Pleasant) are marking the premier of the 8th season of WEIU-TV’s Heartland Highways by including an engaging segment on The Homestead Seeds [THS] company located in Arthur Illinois. In 2009, The Great Pumpkin Patch carved out some very evocative retail space for THS to show off its heirloom, rare and common squash, gourd and pumpkin seed displays. Our THS Store is rustic and historic, and well-stocked with nearly 100 of these cucurbit seeds during each annual Patch season from Sept 15th through Oct 31st. Also, The Homestead Bakery has been quite generous in etching out a comfy corner in their retail showroom to accommodate off-Patch-season seed purchases to all of their walk-in shoppers.
Be sure to watch Lori and Kate as they impressively expose the Homestead Seeds story with the facts, footage and interviews that reveal why The Homestead Seeds has become such a prominent heirloom seed source for worldwide squash, gourd and pumpkin growers. Our story airs on WEIU-TV on Friday, March 26th at 7:00pm, and on Sunday, March 28th at 4:00pm. [It also airs on RFDTV on Monday, April 19th at 1:00pm and at 11:00pm CST.]

“Eastward Bound to Kennett Square, PA”
One might think Mac and his impressive crew are running low on steam and energy, poppin’ all around the Midwest countryside to hoist their famous TGPP cucurbit skyscrapers. But it may just be this onset of exhaustion that actually amps up their stamina and pumps up their creativity. Mac and crew are not done yet!! Near the end of this September, they are headed toward the East Coast.
Longwood Gardens, in Kennett Square of Philadelphia PA, encompasses 1,050 acres of gardens, woodlands and meadows, with over 11,000 types of plants, and more fountains than any other garden in the US. Visit the Longwood Gardens website for their events lineup. This marks the ninth year the TGPP display has been showcased at this breathtaking garden spot. Be sure to put this must-see location on your road trip agenda this fall!
